Introduction To The Tianjin Networking Club |

There are no translations available. Background Information The Tianjin Area, including TEDA and all other economic, high tech and industrial areas, is quickly becoming the top spot for businesses in China. This is especially since the Chinese national government decided to focus on Tianjin as the economic hub of North China.
With this economic growth, various Chambers of Commerce have started branches in Tianjin as a means for expats to get together. The Tianjin Expats Website is another platform for people to meet and being the first website of its kind in Tianjin, its membership has grown to 3,600 today.
Despite these opportunities to cultivate contacts with people in various companies, there is no real multi-cultural business event on a regular basis where an American entrepreneur can meet with a German entrepreneur or where a Dutch manager can find other local expats to do business with.
Thus the Tianjin Networking Club was established in cooperation with the Tianjin Expats Website to provide an intercultural interface platform.
Purpose To bring together entrepreneurs, business people, managers and professionals from various industries, companies and cultures, providing them with the opportunity to meet each other in a welcoming and relaxing setting. It offers a platform for people to make valuable connections that can take their projects and businesses to new heights.
Approach We are planning to hold an event each month in a strictly business atmosphere, alternately in Tianjin City and in TEDA. The event will be held on a Tuesday evening between 7:00 p.m. and 9.30.pm in an atmosphere that is conducive to communication (for example, a hotel bar) and available only for business people. People will register at the entrance of the venue where business cards will be collected.
Entrance will not be free of charge, as we are looking for business people. However, early registration up to within 24 hours before the event starts, will be encouraged by offering a 50% discount. The full price is 100 RMB but registering early gets you in at only 50 RMB. Every guest shall get a complementary drink and the venue will offer a happy hour until 9.00 pm.
Similar networking events have done successfully well in Beijing where people meet up on a weekday since there are less activities than in the weekends. |
